First Food - Banana

Graeme had his first taste of solids over the weekend!  I really wanted to do avocados first, but none of them were ripe so we decided to puree some banana instead.  And survey says...

Bananas are awesome!

The first time we fed him the banana, he wasn't too sure about it.  He ate some, but kept making faces like what in the world is this stuff?  Second time around, he was super into it!  He took the spoon from me and started feeding himself.  He was pretty messy, but luckily a friend warned us that banana tends to stain so we made sure to use a bib that wasn't going to get much more use (because Baby's First Fourth has already happened).

It was a lot of fun to watch him eat.  He made such happy little noises and would reach for the spoon when I took it to scoop a little more banana out for  him.  And he grinned so big a few times that I realized for the first time that he has two dimples!! One on each side of his mouth.  Sooo cute!!

This spoon feeding thing just makes me feel like he is growing up so much!  We're giving him solids twice a day right now, and he's still getting his breastmilk for every feeding.  His pediatrician advised alternating between fruits and veggies, so sweet potato is next up on our list to try.  Today is his fourth day with banana, so we're going to try the sweet potato tomorrow.  After that will be avocado.  We can't wait to see his reaction to other new flavors!
